At VUMC, Love Like Jesus does not mean we have all the answers or that we always get everything right. It means we are committed to becoming a church where people encounter the grace, truth, compassion, and hope of Christ.

Our mission is rooted in the historic Christian faith, centered on Jesus Christ, and lived out through loving God and loving our neighbors.
God
We believe God is the Creator, Savior, and Spirit — present with us, working among us, and calling us into a life of love, worship, and service.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus is Lord. Not our politics. Not our preferences. Not our comfort. Jesus shows us what love looks like through grace, truth, sacrifice, and resurrection life.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit empowers ordinary people for extraordinary purposes, giving strength, wisdom, comfort, and courage to live as followers of Christ.
